Like other reviewers mentioned, some of the stories and rhymes seem to be filler so the publisher could get to 365.Some of the fluff stories are ridiculous, like one about underpants and a guy landing in poop (see photo.) The poop story is very distracting as it is the only story my young children (four and 18 months) want to read now. My 18 month old mutters, "poopie poopie" as she looks for it. It really ruins the book.I have another nursery rhyme book from the same publisher, Nursery Rhymes for Bedtime, that has a better selection of short rhymes and no poop. It has the same illustrations as this one.For longer stories I like A Treasury of Five Minute Stories also by Parragon Books. It contains nearly all of the classic fairytales this book has, with the exact same illustrations.
What a fantastic book! It feels way more expensive than what I paid for. This is a great bedtime book, I have a 10 year old daughter, and a 4 year old daughter. And I can read this book to both of them. Its a beautiful, strong, massive book. I highly recommend i :)
My grandson calls me from a great distance and asks me to read him stories from this book. We look at the pictures together and it brings us together over the miles. There are poems, 1 and 2 page stories and wonderful pictures which he enjoys looking at.
Amazing book for a low price. It is just beautifull!!!! Some of the pages were a little stuck together, but it only took for me to turn them and go over the book for it to have an amazing feel. The cover is kinda cushioned so it makes it look fancy, like a real disney book =D I just love it! will def. keep buying it for all the babies in the family.
This is a gorgeous well-constructed book with padded cover, beautiful illustrations and is exactly what I have been looking for to read to my Grandchildren. It has oodles of traditional stories, rhymes and childrens songs. My Granddaughters love it! Yes, it's true, some of the content is no longer politically correct, but I figure I can just substitute kinder words until the little ones can read it themselves. Then Grandma will need to explain, lol. All in all, love this book, especially at this price!
Great bunch of stories for bedtime. Some familiar, some new. Many of them are short poems, which can be useful for when your kid keeps bugging you for "just one more!" But others are longer and more substantial. A good buy. The variety helps keep things interesting at bedtime, even for the parent! Of note, I did take one star off because the title of the book implies that ALL of the entries are full on stories, when really a large number are just little poems. But still worth the buy.
Read a story every night. Kids love it and it's full of color pictures. If you're looking for something to read every night for a long time, this is a great purchase. The silver lined pages and place marker make it all the better giving the book a special feel with the silver and easy to pick up where left off.Highly recommend
Bought this book of a collection of bedtime stories for a baby shower wishing well. The book is great from just flipping the pages and I hope it brings many sweet dreams. The book's pages are edged with a silver color and makes the book even more special to give as a gift.
